William B. TravisBiography of William B. Travis Before The Alamo
William B. Travis, was born on August 9, 1809. He was the eldest of eleven children. He studied very hard in school, and learned everything that was taught at his first school. His Uncle, Alexander Travis, enrolled him in another. He eventually tutoured younger students. He was accepted as an apprentice by a leading attorney. One of the students he tutoured was Rosanna Cato, whom Travis married. They had a boy, and Cato pregnant with a girl, but their relationship did not last long, as Travis suspected Cato of infidelity, and doubted that he was the father of the unborn girl. The story is that he even killed a man because of this. Travis then abandoned his family, and left for Texas. He established a law service in Anahuac, and became involved with a group of militiants who opposed the Law of April 6, 1830, later known as the war party. Long story short, Travis pulled a //"prank"// on the commander of Anahuac's garrison, and got imprisoned for that, however was later released after an Texan militia showed up. He then got involved with several Texas militias, and even was at the come and take it cannon and fought at Bexar. He was promoted to a lieutenant colonel of cavalry and made chief recruiting office for the army. He was then ordered to reinforce James C. Neill at San Antonio. This is where our story begins.

Dig onWho was James Bowie?
James Bowie was born on April 10, 1796, a son of Reason and Jones Bowie. His family moved around a lot, until they finally settled in Texas, after swearing allegiance to the Spanish government. As a teen, Bowie floated lumber to market. He was noted for his anger at an insult. He and his brother Rezin joined the U.S. army during the war of 1812. After the war they traded in slaves, buying them from Jean Laffite amd traded them off up north. When they $65,000, they quit the business. James and Rezin dipped their toes into land speculation and became friends with many wealthy planters. Bowie married Cecelia Wells, but she died just weeks before their wedding. In 1830, Bowie married Ursula Veramendi and became a Mexican citizen. They had 2 kids, but Ursula and all of his family died of a Chlorea epidemic in 1833. From then on, he drank heavily and became "careless in his dress." He joined the war party, and a local Militia. He fought in a dozen or so fights, including the famous "grass fight" during the Siege of Bexar. He distinguished himself during these fights, and he was a brave soldier, according to many accounts. After Sam Houston received word that Santa Anna was leading a large force to San Antonio, Bowie offered to lead volunteers to defend the Alamo from the expected attack. He arrived with 30 men on January 19.

Abandon the Alamo
Don't Abandon the AlamoNeill left the Alamo a couple days ago, to visit his family. And it has been chaos since then. Neill transfered command to you, since you are the highest ranking officer in the fort. But the men in the fort, they're volunteers, and they didn't want you as their leader. So you held an election, and BOWIE WON! And you know how that idiot "celebrated"? He unleashed havoc upon Bexar, getting severely intoxicated, releasing all the prisoners in the local jail, basically wrecking it. Everybody was, understandably, mad at Bowie, so he agreed to share command with you. The men of the fort, they tried to get David Crockett, who arrived a few nights ago, to volunteer as the commander, folk legend he was. But he declined, so you are stuck with Bowie. I guess you should go to the War tonightWhat actually happened:
On February 21, Santa Anna and his vanguard reached the banks of the Medina River, 25 miles (40 km) from Béxar. Unaware of the Mexican Army's proximity, the majority of the Alamo garrison joined Béxar residents at a fiesta. After learning of the planned celebration, Santa Anna ordered General Joaquín Ramírez y Sesma to immediately seize the unprotected Alamo, but sudden rains halted that raid. The defenders of the Alamo continued to party, and the Alamo was to live another day.
